Session topics will include funding opportunities for energy systems, producing methane for energy, using nuclear energy and alternate sources of energy, such as solar and wind.
Nebraska Biofuel Renewable Energy Roadmap Workshop
Higher energy prices and increasing dependence on foreign oil have renewed interest in alternative energy sources. Biofuel produced from grain, oilseed crops, and plant biomass represent a promising option to reduce this dependence. The purpose of this workshop is to learn about the exciting opportunities and challenges confronting expansion of biofuel production in Nebraska, and to identify Nebraska’s comparative advantages for increased investment in this industry. A keynote address from Governor Heineman will be followed by plenary presentations by nationally recognized policy makers, scientists, and industry leaders. Participants will also contribute to breakout sessions that will help develop the vision for Nebraska’s Biomass Energy Roadmap.
