Making Crop Marketing & Insurance Decisions

Decisions, decisions, decisions
Producers will be making many of them as the crop insurance sign-up deadline is March 15. Final Spring base prices were estalished on March 1. This workshop discusses seasonal crop price trends for corn, soybeans and wheat, reviews corn, soybean and wheat yield and acreage trends, discusses crop supply, demand and price outlook for the 2007-08 marketing year, discusses pre-harvest crop marketing strategies and the use of crop insurance products with pre-harvest marketing strategies and will assist the producer in developing strategies for success in 2007 and beyond

Husker Harvest Days, 2006

Husker Harvest Days has become one of the nation’s premier working farm shows, with exhibitors and field demonstrations geared to Nebraska and Western Corn Belt agriculture. It is the nation’s largest farm show in which all field crops and plots are irrigated. The half-dozen center-pivot systems and one lateral-move sprinkler that water those crops also are demonstrated during the show.

Cornhusker Economics Management & Outlook Conference

Topics include, Governor’s Welcome, What’s New at Husker Harvest Days?, What About Precision Agriculture?, New Cropping Systems, Water Issues and Nebraska Agriculture, New Seeds and What They Do.

NU Research Symposium 2004

The latest information on research, extension and teaching activities from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Department of Agronomy and Horticulture will be featured at the annual Agronomy and Horticulture Highlights program. Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources agronomists and horticulturists will cover timely issues ranging from water crises in Nebraska to Roundup Ready turf. Other topics include: genetics via distance education, commercial production of landscape and ornamental plants, global food security, soybean breeding and management for high yields and results from recent relay intercropping trials.
